Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the very first time or looking to develop their skills before joining a team, Future Steelers is the perfect place to start.

5:00pm – 5:45pm | Grade 1 - Grade 3 kids
Location: Park Orchards Basketball Stadium, 564 Park Road, Park Orchards (behind Park Orchards Community House and Learning Centre)
Summer 26/27 season
Registrations for the Summer 2026/27 season are open and if you're keen to lock in your spot early, there's a great reason to get in quickly.
Early bird pricing of $325 per child is available until Friday 21 August.
After that, full season fees of $350 per child apply. Registrations close Friday 4th September.
Family discounts are available when you register multiple children in the same season. The online registration process is simple, straightforward, and only takes a couple of minutes.
Summer Season Dates are 10 Oct 2026 - 20 Mar 2027. (in line with School terms for breaks)
REGISTRATION PROCESS Registrations are via the Basketball Victoria PlayHQ system. It is important that when registering that you first set up a PlayHQ account as a parent, you will then register your children as dependents under your own account. Please use an email that you will likely have long term (as in a personal one and not work or education), you will need this to log in to your account in the future. You are also able to add an additional parent to each child's account if you wish. If a PlayHQ Profile Account has already been set up for registration for previous season or to another basketball competition (e.g., Primary School basketball or a senior domestic competition) then the same PlayHQ Profile Account should be used for this and all other registrations using PlayHQ.
Age Groups — Summer 2026/27 Season
To be eligible for each age group this season, your child must have been born within the following date ranges:
Under 8 — Born 1 July 2018 or younger
Under 10 — Born between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2018
Under 12 — Born between 1 July 2014 and 30 June 2016
Under 14 — Born between 1 July 2012 and 30 June 2014
Under 16 — Born between 1 July 2010 and 30 June 2012
Under 18 — Born between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2010
Under 21 — Born between 1 July 2005 and 30 June 2008
Summer 2026/27 Tryout Information
Tryouts for the Summer 2026/27 season are being held at The Rings, Ringwood: 362 Canterbury Road, Ringwood.
Boys Tryouts — Sunday 9 August
Under 8s: 11:00am – 11:45am
Under 12s: 12:00pm – 12:45pm
Under 14s: 1:00pm – 1:45pm
Under 10s: 2:00pm – 2:45pm
Girls Tryouts — Sunday 16 August
Under 8s: 11:00am – 11:45am
Under 10s: 12:00pm – 12:45pm
Under 12s: 1:00pm – 1:45pm
